Philosophy:
As a coach I believe in
having a cooperative relationship with my players based on respect and
trust. I expect my players to come to practice willing to learn, try
their best, and make hard work a priority. I always teach first,
making sure to focus on each individual player’s improvement. My
players should be respectful, sportsmanlike, and coachable, and I
trust that they will act this way on and off the court. I give each
player an equal opportunity during practice and drills, and give
individual attention to each player. I focus on playing a fluid,
conditioned defense as well as an aggressive offense. I plan practice
to be game-like and focus on team needs, and design drills to
accommodate those needs. I encourage my athletes to take risks and
have fun, and harp on them to be great communicators and team players,
as well as respectful individuals.
